Boprob is a trailed soil sampling machine that works in the 10-30 cm range. Samples are collected on the move at 4-15 km/h, depending on soil conditions. One sampling cycle takes only 8-10 seconds, so preparing a composite core from 16 punches, including the travel time, takes about four minutes.

The machine stores up to 16 cores. The crank, discharge cylinder, and elevator are powered hydraulically, while the hydraulic pump is driven by a 5.5 hp Honda engine.

The operator monitors every function from a 7-inch control panel in the cab and can optionally watch the workflow through a camera. Large 235/60 R16 wheels keep the trailer rolling smoothly and reduce ground pressure.

Sampling on the move cuts fuel consumption, reduces clutch wear, and eases operator workload because there is no constant gear shifting.

The trailer configuration lets you hook Boprob to any suitable towing vehicle without modifications and detach it within minutes when it is not needed.

The sampling depth can be configured by swapping the hydraulic cylinder and cutting shoe for 10, 20, 25, or 30 cm options. Alternatively, the machine can be ordered with a lift axle that changes the penetration depth by raising or lowering the trailer from the control panel. A dedicated nematode sampling kit allows shallow 10 cm punches with a 5 m spacing. Important: punches must be taken while driving in a straight line. Two programming modes are available:

In automatic mode the operator sets the punch spacing in the controller, and the system perforates the soil automatically after that distance has been covered. To protect the auger in headland turns, the operator can pause the distance counter with a wireless remote and resume it after aligning the rig.

Key functions at a glance

  • The crank with a cutting blade and discharge cylinder rotates 360 degrees forward and perforates the soil.
  • When the crank returns to its initial position, the discharge cylinder extends and drops the core into the funnel.
  • The next sampling cycle starts automatically after the preset spacing has been covered.
  • Sampling is blocked if the driving speed is too high or too low to protect the machine from damage.
